Our Sustainability Commitment 

At Bark Hair, sustainability isn't just a buzzword—it's been our commitment for 3 years running. We recycle 95% of our salon waste through our partnership with Sustainable Salons Australia, making us one of Canberra's most environmentally responsible hair salons. 

What We Recycle

• All 7 types of plastic packaging

• Hair clippings (turned into oil spill cleanup booms for hair under 20cm)

• Foil and chemical containers

• Paper and cardboard

• Ponytails for medical wigs (80,000+ donated to date!) 

• We collect and dispose all of our chemical waste.

Ocean Plastic Packaging Our Kevin Murphy products use 100% recycled ocean plastic packaging. Every bottle helps remove plastic waste from our oceans while delivering sulfate-free, naturally-derived hair care. 

The $3 Sustainability Fee We charge a small $3 sustainability fee per visit to cover our Sustainable Salons partnership and fortnightly waste collection. This investment ensures we maintain our 95% recycling rate—the highest standard in Canberra.
